DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD CENTRE
Ebenezer Mission has been affiliated as a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Centre since 2016. We support participants through the Award’s Skills, Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey sections, adapting guidance so young people with different abilities can participate meaningfully.

A GOLD AWARD JOURNEY
Jian, a participant with moderate autism, achieved the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Gold Award in 2026. His achievement shows what young people can accomplish with sustained commitment and support tailored to their goals.
THE AWARD IN ACTION
Participants choose meaningful goals and take part with guidance adapted to their abilities, interests and support needs.

Swimming, tennis, golf, safety marshal activities and other supported ways to build health, confidence and teamwork.

Music, cooking, art, design, modelling, media and other interests that help participants set goals and widen their abilities.

Orchestra, choir, disability support, aged-care visits and community service that develop responsibility and contribution.

Supported hiking, tracking, horse riding and outdoor experiences that build confidence, teamwork and connection with the wider environment.
AWARD LEVELS
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a youth development program for young Australians aged 14–24. Participants can enter at the level appropriate to their age and goals.
Minimum 6 months
Minimum 12 months
Minimum 18 months
HOW IT WORKS
Check the requirements, choose an Award level and speak with Ebenezer Mission as your Award Centre.
Choose suitable activities and assessors, then set realistic goals with guidance from our experienced team.
Record progress in the Online Record Book and submit completed sections for Award Leader approval.

COMMUNITY IN ACTION
From Clean‑Up Day volunteering to performing at community and sporting events, participants contribute in visible and meaningful ways. Working side by side develops communication, teamwork, confidence and a genuine sense of belonging.

People with disability and young people are active contributors. With the right support, they volunteer, serve at events, care for shared spaces, encourage peers and take on meaningful community roles.
